Background Noel Gifts International Ltd started business in 1975 as Noel Commerce, a year-end hamper packaging company. In 1982, a new flower business was set up to compliment the existing hamper business. A year later, the company was restructured and renamed "Noel Hampers and Gifts Pte. Ltd".

Since then, we have diversified to become a specialist gift company Noel Gifts International as of 1993, offering an extensive range of hampers, floral arrangements and gifts. Noel is now the industry leader in the hamper and gifts business. We have also earned a reputation for creativity and innovativeness in setting new trends within the industry.

Hampers Noel today commands about 40% of the local festive hamper market. We have literally transformed the plain functional hampers of the early '80s into today's creative and quality-packed hampers. Our two well established pyramid-shaped and traditional hampers have been the focal point of the festive offerings. Yearly, new and exciting products and packaging are introduced to provide customers with attractive gift option.

Flowers and Gifts In the mid-80s, Noel capitalised on its expertise in the hamper business to diversify into related gift areas - floral arrangements and gift packages. This has contributed to steadier business for Noel in the off-peak period between festive seasons.

Throughout the year, Noel creates more than 400 new gift designs and packages to cater to the gifting needs of increasingly more discerning customers. These floral arrangement and gift packages cater to all seasons and reasons including occasions like new borns, weddings, anniversaries, "thank-you"s, housewarmings, official openings of new business or premise and even those to convey heartfelt condolences.

Noel is proud of many first amongst the industry including the 98-minutes Express floral and gifts delivery service.

Noel's foray into the real estate industry began in 1987 with the acquisition of several strata-titled industrial units at 50 Playfair Road for its corporate needs.

In 1995, Noel successfully acquired a plot of land from JTC for its corporate headquarters, as part of its expansion and diversification plans after being public-listed on the SES in 1993. The plan also earmarked property investment and development as the next new business for Noel.

In 1997, Noel ventured into London and acquired 2 blocks of Victorian buildings comprising 12 flats. These were leased and subsequently all sold by year 2000.

By 1999, Noel expanded into the domestic real estate arena by participating in the joint-venture development of Balmoral Crest with a 25% stake, an exclusive residential development in District 10, in close proximity to the Orchard Road shopping and entertainment belt.

As at 30 Jun 2008, a Sales and Purchase Agreement for The Carribean was finalised and completion for sale was slated on 25 August 2008. The other properties are enjoying high occupancy rate and stable rentals.

The Group is well-positioned to seize opportunities in both the industrial and private property market to realise their investments where possible.
